About Us

Academic exchange between Germany and the former Soviet Union began in the 1980s. In 1993, the DAAD opened a Regional Office in Moscow at Leninskij Prospekt 95a, where it still operates today.

In addition to its Regional Office, the DAAD maintains three Information Centres (ICs) in Russia: in Kazan, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg.

A number of DAAD instructors currently teach at Russian universities, including two long-term visiting lecturers, 30 DAAD Lektors and four DAAD language assistants.
